Case Studies

Here’s how we’re helping our customers deliver some of the largest and most challenging civil and infrastructure projects across the country.

Eagar rolls out high-tech, automated metering solution.

The Eagar Town Council recently commissioned new automated water meters worth more than $1.3 million. Fortiline Waterworks was chosen among other utility supply companies for their complete and cost-effective solution and quality service.

RFI Engineering will set up radio towers to facilitate data transmission to the main computer system at Town Hall. This initiative is expected to save the town approximately 12 weeks of person-hours annually, enhancing efficiency and reliability in water management.

Tarrant Integrated Pipeline Project

Led by the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD), this piping system project aimed to strengthen water infrastructure from Palestine to Kennedale in Texas. This involved installing an 84” C200 mortar line polyurethane-coated steel pipe and a Val-Matic 84” CL250 Double Offset Butterfly Valve.

The project faced challenges but strategic planning and collaboration ensured compliance with deadlines and specifications. Additionally, the project team facilitated ancillary components, including casing spacers and HDPE conduit for fiber optic cables, contributing to enhanced water infrastructure resilience and functionality.

Iredell revolutionizes rural water management.

With water districts that cover vast rural areas, Iredell Water Corporation faced distinct challenges in monitoring their water infrastructure. Detecting and maintaining leaks was complex, with traditional water meters scattered over miles.

They needed a solution that was not only durable but would future-proof its water treatment system. Iredell Water chose Kamstrup’s robust AMI system, allowing them to read water meters every three hours, significantly reducing the time, effort, cost, and energy previously spent on manual meter readings.

Emergency fusion services to Palm Beach County sewer line break.

On Wednesday 10th April there was a sewer break in Palm Beach County, near a canal. Sewage was entering the waterway. Residents in the area couldn't access their homes. Immediately, we began sourcing the HDPE pipe and fittings. In a few hours, we had the pipe and supplies ready to ship overnight.

Our lead fusion technician headed to the site and began working through the night until the break was fixed. Residents in the area were able to go back to their homes. Sam Heady, the district's utility director said, ‘In just three days, we have accomplished what would typically require over two weeks’ worth of work."

Delivering AMI to address Greer Commission Water Utility Growth

Greer CPW, serving a rapidly growing Greer, SC, faced infrastructure challenges due to surging demand that manual reading couldn't support. In response, they began replacing outdated water meters with Kamstrup’s advanced ultrasonic smart meters in 2023.

This upgrade provides real-time data and automated readings, improving billing accuracy and customer transparency with a customer portal that shows their own water consumption and billing information. The new system supports more efficient water management and helps maintain high service standards as the city continues to expand.
